Consultations & Fees

 

One of the most important things that you can do in your family law matter is find an attorney that is a good fit for you. You deserve to have an attorney that you trust and who can answer your questions and explain the legal process in a way that makes you feel comfortable. We want you to feel good about your attorney-client relationship at Goldner Deeg. To facilitate that goal, our attorneys offer a free 30-minute initial consultation so that you know that our firm is the right fit.

 

Our cases are typically handled on an hourly basis. Our hourly rate varies depending on the complexity of your case. All times is billed in 0.1 (six-minute) increments to guarantee that you are not overbilled for your attorney’s time. Occasionally, a flat fee may be appropriate. Your billing arrangement will always be explained in detail at the time that you retain our firm.

 

When a retainer is used, your initial deposit is maintained in a client trust account. Each month, you will be provided an invoice for services and the retainer will be reduced accordingly. You will also be provided with an accounting of your retainer balance. In the event that you reconcile or resolve your legal issues in a manner that is less costly than anticipated, the unused portion of your retainer will be returned to you.

 

We believe that our clients are best served when they understand their invoices and the work being completed on their behalf. As such, discussions regarding billing are always complimentary.
